The Mehlville Board of Education will begin hosting a series of Open Dialogue Sessions this fall in an effort to better communicate with members of the Mehlville and Oakville communities.  The first sessions are scheduled for Tuesday, September 20th, and Tuesday, December 6th.   The September gathering will take place at Buerkle Middle School and the December gathering will be held at Bernard Middle School.  All the forums begin at 6:30pm.

Board President Samantha Stormer says the Open Dialogue Sessions will help create a more useful dialogue with the community.  “Right now we have open comment periods at our board meetings, but the rules don’t permit us to respond to patron comments,” explained Stormer.  “The Open Dialogue Sessions will let us share ideas with the community and get more information about things that people like…and don’t like.”

Four Open Dialogue Sessions will be held each year.  Administration members will also attend the sessions in order to provide more depth to the discussions, particularly in the areas of finance, curriculum and district policies.
